How to use this tool

Fixing the source labels you have already collected

Historical lead data is almost never consistent. Sources accumulate as free text over months — '99acres', '99 Acres', 'ninetynine', 'portal' — usually typed by different people under time pressure.

Mapping those variants onto one scheme is what makes past performance comparable. Until it is done, any channel report is measuring spelling as much as spend.

1. List every distinct value

Export the raw source column and count the unique entries. The number is usually several times what the team expects.

2. Group into channels, then campaigns

Channel is the durable layer — portal, paid social, referral, walk-in. Campaigns change monthly; channels rarely do.

3. Apply the same scheme going forward

A one-off cleanup decays within a quarter unless the intake forms are constrained to the same list.

Frequently asked questions

Should unmatched sources be forced into a channel?

No. Keep an explicit 'unknown' rather than distributing them across real channels — a visible gap is more honest than a quietly inflated one.

How granular should the scheme be?

Granular enough to change a budget decision. If two labels would never lead to different spending, they can share a channel.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Mapping runs in your browser and nothing entered leaves the device.
